"What's left of Chromian History?"

"(...)we have to admit that we are at level zero, at the starting point of historical science on Chromos. Now that the old Drullian Federation is part of the history, the recordings of which she always corrupted, it is now time that we begin the process of unraveling the true history of Chromos.

We can begin with a summary of what we do know. Due to a lack of reliable sources from the time before 345 N.A., only information that can be corroborated with full certainty has been included in the following timeline. Not even the fragments of the historical speech given by Gladius the Elder have been used. The reason being that the form in which this speech was given, or even that the speech was delivered by a person of that name, remains unproven. However, since this possibly mythologized speech coincides with the use of our current calendar, it has been included in our summary.

The historical archives from the time before 345 N.A. were manipulated and abused. The first accurate global map of Chromos was published by a group of data pirates just four years ago in 344 N.A. All other maps, which had previously been available to the public, were not worth the paper on which they were printed. Only the inner circle of the Drullian State Council had access to what they called "The Secret Map of Chromos". This is just one sobering illustration of the degree to which the government misinformed the public during this period.

Most of the information relating to the last 100 years can be verified by witnesses who are still alive, but, of course, there are no longer any witnesses for the time before that. For this reason, the list of events prior to 345 N.A. is very short and lacks a great deal of coherence. The archivist regrets this, but would rather sacrifice comprehensiveness than risk delivering false information. This timeline contains every piece of historical data that can be confirmed with full certainty. Everything else now lies in the darkness of propaganda. It will be the work of generations to dig out the truth. This work must now begin.
