General FAQ

On which platforms is BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR available?
BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR is available for PC CD-ROM. Blue Byte currently has no plans to produce Linux, Macintosh or console versions.

What requirements does my PC have to fulfill in order to be able to play BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR?
Blue Byte has tried extremely hard to keep the hardware requirements as low as possible. Because of the high-performance 3D graphics engine, the following components are necessary however: 300 MHz Pentium® II, 64 MB RAM, Windows® 95B, Windows® 98 or Windows® 2000, second generation graphic card and 3D accelerator with at least 8 MB RAM (Voodoo2, TNT, Banshee1, G200 or faster), second generation accelerator with at least 4x CD-ROM, soundcard.

Is BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR a turn-based game like BATTLE ISLE 2220 (released as BATTLE ISLE 3 – SHADOW OF THE EMPEROR in the UK)?
BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR is a turn-based game, but there is a time limit for each turn. It combines the best in real-time and turn-based strategy games. The tactical aspects are turn-based, while the economic simulation takes place in real-time. Unlike its predecessors, all of BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR is played in a 3D environment.

I really enjoyed the previous BATTLE ISLE titles, including INCUBATION, even though the game principle is a little different. Is BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR closer to INCUBATION than to the other games in the series?
BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR is firmly rooted in the traditions of the BATTLE ISLE series. It’s true that characters from INCUBATION have a role in the game and that the background story is partly based on events in INCUBATION, but the gaming principle is mainly oriented towards the first three parts of BATTLE ISLE.

Does that mean the background story follows on from the previous episodes?
The background story has maintained a function in the BATTLE ISLE universe -- elements from all of the games in the BATTLE ISLE series also have their part to play in BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR. For an overview of the previous events in the BATTLE ISLE saga, take a look at the Timeline.

Does BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR offer a multiplayer mode? How many players can join one game?
BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR does include multiplayer options and up to eight players in two teams can play against each other. As you would expect, BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR also supports Internet multiplay gaming via the Blue Byte Game Channel.

Do I have to pay a monthly fee to be able play the game on the BLUE BYTE GAME CHANNEL?

Can I also play BATTLE ISLE: THE ANDOSIA WAR on a local area network (LAN)?
