The Settlers IV Updates

A new update to The Settlers IV is now available. Click here to view the release notes. Click on one of the links below to download the file. You only need to do a manual installation for offline play. You will be automatically updated if you connect to BBGC.

This file will update all versions of Settlers IV to version 2.50.1516

English Editor Patch Update

The editor patch contains a new fix as well as changes from Version 1.1.1583.0 to 1.11.1584.0. Below is the latest fix included with the patch:

Some users experienced problems getting the editor to work with the following combination of things:

• Settlers IV
• Mission CD
• Add-On NOT installed, otherwise there will be no problem to fix.
• Update 2.01.1056

Attention U.S. Owners of The Settlers: Fourth Edition

If you are in the U.S. and you want to play The Settlers: Fourth Edition online, we can provide you with the serial number needed to do so. Email support@ubisoft.com with "The Settlers: Fourth Edition Serial Number" in the subject line. Include your name, email address and the number located beneath the barcode on the bottom flap of your box. Upon verification of your details, we will quickly send you a Serial Number, and you will be ready to play!

Updates for THE SETTLERS IV available!

You won’t need to update your THE SETTLERS IV installation manually if you play the game online. The BLUE BYTE GAME CHANNEL’s automatic update service checks your installation automatically while you’re logging on to the server, downloads the update on to your computer if required and then executes it automatically.

To install the update manually, please start off by clicking on the link below to download the file. Then enter your THE SETTLERS IV directory in the download window which appears and confirm with “ok”. After the download has finished, please close your browser and run the update file by double-clicking on it. Once the update program has finished, you will be able to play the very latest version of the game.

Important: To check which version of the game you have, take a look at the number at the bottom right of the game's main screen.

Error Messages

We have put together a tool to deal with the following error messages:

"Error Starting Program - A required .DLL file, MSVCP60.dll, was not found."
or
"ERROR: Error occurred when enumerating S4 maps."

All you need to do is to download the program and then run it. It updates the Dll files concerned. Once you have done this, you should have no problems starting THE SETTLERS IV or the lobby.
